Diet for bronchial asthma

The organs of the respiratory system have a disease like asthma. Her seizures occur when a trachea enters the lungs of a foreign body or any allergen, cold or humid air, as a result of physical exertion, causing irritation of the mucous membrane in the respiratory tract, followed by blockage and the onset of asphyxiation. It is this condition that is called asthma.

Free breathing in this disease is a happy moment for the patient. When the attack of the bronchi occurs, the lumen narrows, preventing the free flow of air. Now more than half of all cases of asthma are diagnosed in children under 10 years of age. Most often this disease is observed in men. Also, doctors note the hereditary component of this disease. Asthma is most common among people who smoke.

In most cases, asthma patients can not predict the duration of the attack and the severity of the disease. Sometimes attacks threaten the life and health of a person if medical care is not provided in time.

Read our special article nutrition for the lungs and food for the bronchi.

Severe forms of asthma are characterized by the following symptoms:

  • it is difficult for a person to finish a sentence because of severe shortness of breath,
  • wheezing becomes almost inaudible, since quite a bit of air passes through the airways,
  • lack of oxygen leads to blueing of the lips, tongue, fingers and toes,
  • confusion and coma.

Doctors include a compulsory examination of allergens, training and self-help training for asthma attacks, and the selection of medications as modern approaches to the treatment of asthma. There are two main forms of medication - fast-acting relieving symptoms and controlling medications.

Healthy Foods for Asthma

Doctors recommend asthmatics to follow a strict diet. If allergens are products, they must be completely excluded from the diet. Food is best steamed, boiled, baked or stew after boiling. Also recommend for some products to carry out preliminary special treatment. For example, potatoes are soaked for 12-14 hours before cooking, vegetables and cereals are soaked for 1-2 hours, and meat is subjected to double digestion.

The goal of the diet is:

  • normalization of immunity
  • reduction of inflammation
  • mast cell membrane stabilization,
  • reduction of bronchospasm
  • removal from the diet of foods that provoke attacks,
  • restoration of sensitivity of the bronchial mucosa,
  • reduced intestinal permeability to food allergens.

Doctors recommend eating:

  • melted butter, flaxseed, corn, rapeseed, sunflower, soybean and olive oil as a source of omega-3 and omega-9 fatty acids,
  • apples are an accessible source of pectin, which can be eaten both raw and baked, in apple sauce or baked with other products,
  • green vegetables: cabbage, squash, zucchini, parsley, young green peas, dill, green beans, light pumpkin - which is an excellent remedy for relaxing spasmodic smooth muscles of the bronchi,
  • whole grains, lentils, brown rice, sesame seeds, cottage cheese, hard cheeses - provide the body with the necessary amount of dietary calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and help to reduce the permeability of the intestinal mucosa and normalize metabolic processes,
  • citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C and help fight free radicals that accumulate in the walls of the bronchi lead to an allergic reaction,
  • pears, plums, light cherries, white and red currants, gooseberries are bioflavonoids and neutralize the oxidative process in the body,
  • carrots, sweet peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, leafy greens - are rich in beta-carotene and selenium and support the body, improving its immunity,
  • cereals (except for manna) - a source of vitamin E, fill the body with oxidative reaction products,
  • yogurts without fruit additives, mild cheeses - a source of calcium and zinc, so necessary for asthma patients,
  • the liver is not only an excellent blood-forming product, but also an excellent source of copper, an important component of the normal functioning of the whole organism,
  • cereals, wheat bread of the second grade, legumes, pumpkin seeds, grain breads, simple drying, corn and rice flakes - helps to restore the body’s normal immune reactivity and enrich it with zinc,
  • Lean meats of beef, rabbit, pork, horse meat, turkey are rich in phosphorus and animal protein products, and also contain dietary fiber necessary for our body.

The basis of asthma diets are:

  • vegetarian soups,
  • porridge,
  • lean borscht cooked in water
  • boiled or steamed meat,
  • soda cheese,
  • vinaigrettes,
  • vegetable and fruit salads,
  • mashed potatoes
  • casseroles,
  • vegetable patties,
  • fresh raw vegetables
  • fruits,
  • decoctions of oats and wild rose,
  • vegetable oil.

When signs of asthma or hypersensitivity to food are identified, an individual menu should be drawn up and gradually expanded as it gets better.

Traditional medicine for asthma

But non-traditional methods of treatment promise not only the cessation of attacks of suffocation, but also a complete cure for this disease with prolonged use of prescriptions:

  • To stop the attacks, you can eat a ripe heated banana, sprinkled with black pepper,
  • helps infusion of pine green cones and pine resin,
  • all types of asthmatic attacks treat a mixture of crushed turmeric rhizome and honey,
  • hydrogen peroxide drops,
  • perfectly helps with asthma infusion of Jerusalem artichoke,
  • honey - effectively controls asthma attacks,
  • According to grandmother's recipes for old asthma, an onion peel extract helps.

Dangerous and harmful products for asthma

Products in this category are a risk group for asthmatics. They must either be completely eliminated from the diet, or eaten metered.

  • fish - herring, mackerel, salmon, sardines and nuts - walnuts, cashews, Brazilian, almonds, which are rich in omega-3 and omega-9 class fatty acids, but can cause severe bronchial spasms,
  • semolina, pasta,
  • whole milk and sour cream,
  • yogurts with fruit additives,
  • early vegetables - they require mandatory pre-soaking, as they may contain pesticides harmful to the body,
  • chickens,
  • cranberries, cranberries, blackberries - rich in irritating mucous acid,
  • pure butter,
  • premium bread,
  • rich broths that contain heavy metal salts, mercury and arsenic compounds,
  • hot pickles, fried foods - irritating the intestines and mucous membranes,
  • smoked meats and spices
  • sausage and gastronomic products - rich in nitrites and food additives,
  • eggs are the most asthmogenic product
  • refractory fats and margarine containing trans fats,
  • kvass, cocoa, coffee, jelly,
  • marshmallows, chocolate, caramel, chewing gum, muffins, marshmallow, cakes, fresh pastries - due to the large number of artificial ingredients,
  • salt - the source of water retention in the body, which for asthmatics can cause severe seizures,

Allergic mood can be reduced if food or inhalation allergens are known. These include:

  • grass pollen - food grains,
  • sunflower pollen - sunflower seeds,
  • hazelnut pollen - nuts,
  • Daphnia - crabs, crayfish, shrimp,
  • wormwood pollen - food mustard or mustard plaster.

There are also cross food allergies:

  • carrots - parsley, celery,
  • potatoes - tomatoes, eggplants, chilli peppers,
  • strawberries - blackberries, raspberries, currants, lingonberries,
  • beans - mango, peanut,
  • beet - spinach.

It is important to immediately identify such food cross-allergens in order to avoid seizures. Even if allergens are identified only to plant products, the diet should not contain large amounts of animal protein, since it is foreign proteins of the bacterial, domestic or food directions that are the main provocateurs of asthma attacks.

Medical expert articles

Bronchial asthma is characterized by a chronic course, so the treatment of the disease usually lasts a long time, sometimes even a lifetime. The emphasis in the treatment of asthma is put on the fight against infection and allergic reaction, as well as on improving immunity, and for this, not only competent therapy, but also proper nutrition is very important. Diet for bronchial asthma - what is it? Is it possible to cure a disease with changes in nutrition?

The essence of the diet in bronchial asthma

In case of bronchial asthma, treatment table No. 9 is prescribed, the purpose of which is to normalize metabolic processes, relieve symptoms and prevent new bouts of the disease.

Diet number 9 should ensure the intake of all the necessary nutrients.

The energy value of the daily menu is within the normal range, digestible carbohydrates are excluded, the use of spices and seasonings is allowed in very scant amounts.

Food is recommended to cook in a double boiler, boil, or bake. Extinguishing allowed.

Treatment table number 9 involves the frequent use of food, up to about five times a day.

A hypoallergenic diet for bronchial asthma should have the following composition and caloric content:

  • proteins - from 100 to 130 g,
  • lipids - 85 g,
  • the amount of complex carbohydrates - 300 g,
  • average daily energy value - from 2600 to 2700 kcal,
  • the amount of fluid consumed - from 1.5 to 1.8 liters,
  • the amount of salt consumed per day - up to 10 g,
  • The recommended food temperature is from +15 to + 65 ° C.

The proposed method of nutrition stabilizes carbohydrate metabolism, and also has a positive effect on the overall metabolic processes in the body. It can be used not only for bronchial asthma, but also for other diseases associated with allergic manifestations or metabolic disorders.

Diet for asthma in adults

The fight against the allergic mood of the body with the help of a diet involves a complete rejection of sweetened foods and products.

It should be consumed less salt, because sodium in the body's allergic mood increases the bronchial hypersensitivity to external stimuli. For this reason, you should not eat salted foods and add salt to already prepared dishes. Among other things, sodium, which is able to retain moisture, can create all the conditions for the development of edema of the mucous tissues of the respiratory system, which will adversely affect the respiratory function.

Patients with bronchial asthma should limit the use of spices, vinegar, sauces. Even banal phytoncides, which are contained in onions and garlic, can provoke an attack of the disease. Therefore, onions and garlic, before adding to the dishes, should be thermally processed.

Extremely harmful to asthmatics are salted and smoked products that can cause the development of inflammation of the pancreas and gall bladder. It is also desirable to exclude various exotic fruits for our region: citrus fruits, pineapples, mangoes, etc.

You should be very careful when choosing tea and coffee - such drinks should only be of high quality, as the various flavors and other additives that are present in drinks can cause an asthmatic attack. For your own safety, it is better to replace tea or coffee with a decoction of rosehip, Sudanese rose or herbal infusions.

Diet for children with bronchial asthma

The nutrition of a child diagnosed with asthma should not consist of products containing substances such as histamine and tyramine, since they provoke an allergic reaction. The greatest amount of these substances is found in hard cheese, beef sausage (including boiled), smoked meats, canned food, sauerkraut. Such products are not recommended for children, even during remission.

A diet for an asthmatic child should include the elimination of allergens in the digestive system, as well as the creation of obstacles to their absorption. It is proved that all sorts of food supplements in the form of spices and seasonings accelerate the entry of substances unnecessary to the child’s body into the blood.

If the older children determine the product that causes an asthma attack, it is quite difficult, since nutrition at an older age is already quite diverse, then in children under 1 year it is relatively easy to do. Complementary feeding of the baby is introduced gradually and in several stages, therefore, the child’s reaction can detect a potential allergen and further exclude it from the menu.

Diet for aspirin bronchial asthma

An attack of aspirin bronchial asthma can cause acetylsalicylic acid and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. As a rule, having appeared once, hypersensitivity to aspirin and similar drugs remains with a person for life.

In addition to the fact that patients are strongly advised to avoid acetylsalicylic acid based drugs and other nonsteroidal drugs, diet is important to them.

Tartrazine (E 102) is a coloring matter that gives a yellow tint to many foods and medicines. It is added to carbonated drinks, juices, ice cream, caramel, confectionery, biscuits, chips, crackers, muesli, shop sauces, packaged soups and ready-to-cook foods, canned foods, cheeses, noodles and chewing gum.

In asthmatics, the use of products with tartrazine after a few minutes can cause an attack of bronchial asthma. For this reason, you should carefully examine the packaging before you buy products. If the composition of the product on the label is not specified, then, first of all, it should be alerted by its yellowish color, which may have different degrees of saturation - from pale yellow to poisonous yellow.

Reviews of diet for bronchial asthma

A diet for patients with bronchial asthma is used not only for preventive and therapeutic purposes, but also for detecting and eliminating those products that cause an asthmatic attack in a patient. Patients themselves have noticed that with full compliance with the rules of dietary nutrition, one can sometimes afford some of the prohibited foods. The lack of reaction of the body to this product may indicate that its use is safe and does not cause hypersensitivity of the body. Each component of the menu is introduced separately from the others, and the resumption of the first symptoms of an exacerbation of the disease indicates the presence of an allergy to the product.

With this method of "trial and error," many patients determine for themselves their own list of products and dishes, from which they then draw up a daily diet.

For its part, it is worth noting that such experiments should be carried out only under the supervision of the attending physician, who will be able to assist in time and redirect the treatment in the right direction. Self-adjustment diet, without the consent of a specialist, is not welcome.

Diet for asthma is obligatory, and often patients have to stick to it all their lives. However, many nutritionist doctors compare this diet with one of the varieties of normal healthy food, so the new diet can help patients not only relieve asthma symptoms, but also improve the body as a whole.

Basic rules for healthy eating

Food in bronchial asthma should be thought out and balanced. Do not exclude all potentially dangerous products, otherwise the menu may become too scarce.
It is best if the patient knows exactly what kind of food the body reacts to. Then you can completely remove the stimuli. It is necessary to adhere to the basic recommendations developed specifically for patients:

  • salt and sugar need to be limited or eliminated
  • in the foods consumed should be enough fat and protein, but it is necessary to limit the dishes of meat and fish,
  • it is necessary to eat often and in small portions,
  • sweets are better replaced by fruit,
  • The last meal should be eaten 2 - 3 hours before bedtime,
  • once in a couple of weeks, you can arrange "unloading" days.

Diet for asthmatics provides high-quality heat treatment of dishes. In this case, you need to abandon frying Meat and fish is better to stew or bake. If the menu includes raw vegetables or fruits, they must be fresh, because patients often have a reaction to mold fungi.
If you follow these simple rules, it will be easier to reduce the negative effects of the disease.

Products to be excluded

Canned food, smoked meats, ready-to-cook foods are under strict prohibition due to their high content of chemical additives and preservatives. There are also a number of products that hypoallergenic diet for asthma completely excludes:

  • seafood,
  • strawberries, raspberries, peaches, citrus,
  • nuts and legumes,
  • tomatoes,
  • honey and chocolate
  • the eggs.

In small quantities, these products can be consumed only if the person knows for sure that this will not affect his condition.
It is necessary to reduce portions of wheat bread, fatty meats, dairy products, soda, coffee and alcohol.

What products are allowed

Despite the extensive list of restrictions, nutrition for asthma should be varied and complete. Experts recommend to include in the menu:

  • lean meats (rabbit, veal),
  • greenery,
  • buckwheat, barley, oatmeal,
  • vegetables (potatoes, onions, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini),
  • fruits (apples, pears),
  • dairy products (kefir, ryazhenka),
  • butter and sunflower oil,
  • confectionery products designed for diabetics.

We make the menu for the day

A diet for bronchial asthma should be saturated with carbohydrates. They dominate the patient menu. Up to 700 g of carbohydrates, 100 g of protein and 70 g of fat should be consumed per day.
Sample menu for the day:

  • The first meal includes cottage cheese with fruit or boiled oatmeal. As a drink, we recommend weak tea, homemade fruit juice or natural juice.
  • The second breakfast usually consists of fruit.
  • For lunch you can eat soup in vegetable broth. As a second dish, a stew of vegetables and a piece of meat or fish will suit.
  • The best choice for an afternoon snack will be dairy products or fruit jelly without sugar.
  • At dinner, you can put out a piece of lean meat with vegetables.
  • The final meal will be a glass of kefir, which is drunk shortly before bedtime.

Menu for children

It is better if a professional doctor will develop a diet for children with bronchial asthma. It aims to ensure that the child received the full range of vitamins and minerals necessary for growth. At the same time, edible foods should help excrete phlegm and mucus.
Usually in the preparation of the menu a month or two monitor the condition of the child. The diet continues with a positive result.
Even when there is no aggravation, you should not give children sausages, canned goods, hard varieties of cheese and sauerkraut. Honey is a good natural expectorant, but it is he who often provokes seizures. It can only be used with the firm assurance that the product will not cause a reaction.
General guidelines for developing a nutritional plan for children are the same as for adults. The menu should include lean meat, cereals, dairy products, vegetables and fruits.

Elimination diet

Assigned to patients who have food allergies. To determine the stimuli, a food diary is usually kept, where information about all the food eaten is entered. After identifying allergens from the menu exclude them. Such a diet reduces the burden on the immune system and minimizes the attacks of the disease.
Refuse not only the products that cause the reaction, but also from those dishes that contain them. For example, in case of severe allergy to chicken eggs, it is necessary to exclude mayonnaise and all confectionery products that make up them.

Diet during periods of exacerbation

In case of bronchial asthma, the diet allows you to avoid deterioration. However, in some cases, exacerbations are caused by other factors that are not related to nutrition. This may be a seasonal flowering of herbs. In this situation, it is recommended to stick to the previous menu and add special dishes to your diet.

  • Is considered effective decoction of figs. 3 dried fruit is poured with water and left overnight. In the morning they are taken out and eaten one at a time for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Garlic also helps relieve asthma attacks. Several cloves pour a glass of milk and bring to a boil. Filter broth and consume 100 ml three times a day.
  • Flaxseed infusion can also reduce symptoms. A spoonful of seeds is ground and boiled for 15 minutes in a glass of water. Broth drink for a day.
  • Ginger juice and ginger tea have a good effect.

Experts agree that diet with asthma, although it will not be able to cure the disease, but will help to avoid frequent attacks of suffocation. To effect was expressed, the diet should not change throughout life.
Tell us in the comments, is it difficult for you to limit yourself in the diet and which foods you are allergic to?

Asthma Diet Guidelines

Cause allergic reactions chemical additives, which are widely used in the food industry. It has been proven that asthma is adversely affected by substances such as: tartrazine, salicylates, benzonate, nitrite and sodium sulfate, monosodium glutamate. Therefore, patients with bronchial asthma should make it a rule to minimize the consumption of any canned food, confectionery, semi-finished products - all those products that have a long shelf life. Indeed, often, in addition to the chemical additives stated on the packaging, these products contain traces of antibiotics, peanuts and other potential allergens.

Cause of bronchial asthma often becomes highly sensitive to mold fungi. They are found in cheeses, in cottage cheese, on vegetables and fruits. Therefore, the following rule for asthmatics is the consumption of only fresh food, which was stored in the refrigerator for no more than a day. Before use, vegetables and fruits should be carefully processed.

The third rule for people with asthma is a competent culinary processing of dishes. Products can be stewed, boiled, baked. But it is worth remembering that broths on meat, fish and chicken are more likely to provoke allergies than boiled fish, poultry or meat. Therefore, it must be changed at least three times during cooking. To give up fried foods should be completely.

The fourth rule is to maintain the normal functioning of the digestive tract. It is important that the intestinal barrier function is not impaired, and the organ allows allergens to pass freely through the enterohepatic barrier. This will allow them not to linger in the body, and therefore, the risk of adverse reactions will be minimized. Useful in this regard are fermented milk drinks, such as: yogurt, kefir, yogurt. The same applies to dietary fibers, normalizing intestinal motility and stimulating local immunity.

The last but most important rule for patients with asthma is a varied and full menu. Poor nutrition adversely affects the state of health, no less than the use of harmful foods. With a limited supply of nutrients, the work of the respiratory muscles is disturbed, gas exchange suffers, immunity copes with its work worse.

How to make a menu for asthma?

The calculation of the daily diet should be based on the height and weight of the person, on his age and physical activity. The main recommendation is as follows:

Protein - up to 80 grams per day (but not less than 70 g). 50% of them must be of plant origin.

Fat up to 70 g per day (but not less than 50 g). The amount of vegetable fat - 40 g.

Carbohydrates - 300 g per day.

It is possible to remove inflammation from the bronchi through the abandonment of carbohydrates, which are quickly absorbed - sugar, jam, honey, etc. It is important that there is sufficient intake of natural antioxidants. These are products containing selenium, vitamins C, E, A. Most of them can be obtained from vegetable oils, vegetables and fruits.

Be sure to include in the diet of brown rice, legumes, green vegetables. They contain magnesium, which helps normalize the tone of the muscles of the bronchi and reduces their excessive activity.

A sample menu might look like this:

Breakfast: rice porridge with sugar, baked pear, tea.

Snack: squash pancakes with currant jam.

Lunch: vinaigrette with vegetable oil, calf cutlets steamed with mashed potatoes, rosehip broth.

Snack: banana and dried fruit compote.

Dinner: rabbit stew, braised cabbage with onions, green tea.

At bedtime, a glass of kefir or other sour-milk drink.

It is impossible to provide a single food menu for all patients with bronchial asthma, since food allergens are individual. Nevertheless, the described prohibitions and rules are the most common, and, adhering to them, you can make the most asthma-specific diet for a particular person.

Asthma is a chronic disease, the basis of this disease is non-infectious inflammation in the airways. The development of bronchial asthma is promoted by both external and internal irritable factors. A variety of external factors include various allergens, as well as chemical, mechanical and weather factors.

According to the Iranian doctor F.Batmanghelidzha, dehydration of the human body and the development of bronchial asthma - two processes directly related to each other. Following the method of F. Batmanghelidzha, you can make sure that salted water cleanses the lungs of mucus and sputum, stops a dry cough, increases the air exchange capacity of the lungs.

Allergic asthma is the most common form of asthma, which is expressed by the hypersensitivity of the respiratory system to certain allergens. Inhaling the allergen, the body receives a signal of an irritant, and the immune system's response is triggered, resulting in a sharp contraction of the muscles located around the respiratory tract.

Bronchial asthma is a fairly common modern disease of the respiratory tract. Manifested in the form of periodic attacks of shortness of breath, a strong cough, sometimes capable of developing into an attack of suffocation. The reason for this is the reaction of the respiratory tract to any irritant caught in them.

Asthma is a chronic, severe disease affecting the broncho-pulmonary system. Asthma causes a significant narrowing of the airways. The patient has a characteristic cough, after physical exertion, shortness of breath occurs. The disease may be accompanied by prolonged choking attacks.

General rules

Diet bronchial asthma It is a good adjuvant treatment and prevention of asthma attacks. Diet food intake is largely determined by the form of bronchial asthma (infectious-allergic or atonic). If the patient has no allergic reactions to food triggers, as a rule, the option Diets number 9 (for patients with bronchial asthma), which is a hypoallergenic diet.

Its main purpose is to reduce the sensitivity of the bronchial apparatus, reduce the intensity of attacks and the severity of allergic-inflammatory processes. The basic principle of such a diet is the exclusion from the diet of potentially allergenic foods that have a pronounced sensitizing effect and extractive irritating substances. In general, it is a physiologically complete diet, but with a restriction of sugars and its containing products.

The average daily calorie intake of patients with bronchial asthma is 2400–2700 kcal. The amount of liquid is 1.7-1.8 liters. Fractional power (4-5 receptions). The restriction applies to strong meat, mushroom and fish broths and salt (up to 10-11 g). Culinary food processing - leading to the denaturation of proteins.

Potentially allergenic products include seafood and fish, caviar, goose and duck meat, eggs, nuts, legumes, citrus fruits, tomatoes, melons, peaches, strawberries, raspberries, chocolate and honey, yeast. During the period of exacerbation of asthma, these products should be excluded from the diet.

It is important to limit the diet easily digestible carbohydrates (honey, sugar, jam, syrups and others), which contribute to the exacerbation of inflammatory processes. Also limited to the use of wheat bread, fatty varieties of pork / beef, whole milk, cottage cheese, semolina, sour cream.

Particular attention should be paid to products containing large quantities. tyramine and histamineactive in the development of allergic reactions. The highest content of these substances is found in products that are manufactured using technologies that include fermentation processes (hard cheese, canned fish, sauerkraut, smoked sausage, sausages and sausages).

It is also important to limit the use of products that accelerate the absorption of allergens: spices and spices (onion, pepper, garlic, mustard), carbonated and alcohol-containing beverages, salted fish and vegetables, coffee.

The cause of allergic reactions can be not only products, but also various chemical additives widely used in the food industry (emulsifiers, dyes, preservatives, flavors). The most dangerous are salicylates, tartrazine, nitrite, glutamate, sodium benzoate. Therefore, it is important to exclude all canned products and semi-finished products.

To ensure proper nutrition with this diet is recommended to include in the menu:

  • products containing animal proteins (lean beef, veal, rabbit meat),
  • carbohydrates (potatoes, barley, buckwheat, oatmeal),
  • vegetables and fruits containing vitamins and microelements (cabbage, cucumbers, zucchini, pears, apples),
  • fats (butter, vegetable oils),
  • fermented milk products (kefir, yogurt, ryazhenka),
  • decoction of wild rose berries, fruit compotes, tea, mineral water without gas.

Some features have a diet in the diagnosis aspirin bronchial asthma. In this case, all products containing acetylsalicylic and benzoic acidused as preservatives. Products containing salicylates include oranges, raspberries, grapes, apricots, cherries, cloves, strawberries, blackberries, mint, gooseberries, peaches, plums.

Salicylates are contained in a large number of products, so you can selectively exclude them, given the level of sensitivity to them. Heavy bronchospasm may cause food coloring tartrazine, which is part of ice cream, candy, pasta, gingerbread, puddings, colored marshmallow.

Unloading and diet therapy

A type of diet therapy is unloading-diet therapy prescribed for severe forms of the disease (a combination of drug and polyvalent food allergies, bronchial asthma and obesityat psoriasis and eczema). It is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, active tuberculosis, violations of the functions of internal organs, children and the elderly.

Unloading-diet therapy in asthmatics involves hospitalization of the patient, it is strictly prohibited to carry it out at home and without a doctor's prescription. However, as an alternative, we can recommend short courses of starvation, which are almost as effective as, but less dangerous in terms of associated complications. The duration of such courses is 3-7 days.

Diet for bronchial asthma in children is not fundamentally different. Children are also assigned a dietary table 9, however, this will correct the caloric content and the norms of consumption of nutrients in accordance with the age of the forming organism.

Nutrition of children with allergic manifestations is a rather complicated issue and a careful approach to the preparation of a diet is necessary, since restrictions on the nutrition of a child may not improve, but worsen his condition due to insufficient content in the diet of proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates or fats.

In some cases, the cause of allergies may not be the food itself, but the inability of the child’s body to fully process and assimilate it. Often in such cases, children and allergies, as a reaction to this.

In the diet of the child should be exclusively freshly prepared food from natural products. Over time, as the child grows, some of the products cease to be allergens for him. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the changes and adjust the diet, but only under the supervision of a pediatrician or allergist.
